Iberia, the leading Spanish carrier and unrivalled market leader on Europe - Latin America routes, has always been known for being innovative. Founded in 1927, it was the first European airline to fly to South America in 1946.

In 1991, Iberia set up Europe's first international airline Frequent Flyer Programme.

The once state - owned carrier is nowadays one of Europe's most profitable airlines.   Serving 20 destinations in the Americas and a further 48 via code-share, Iberia has to be your first choice for exploring Latin America.  Furthermore you can fly whenever you please, as most flights to Latin America operate at least once daily.

Six years after launching its Business Intercontinental Class and five years after introducing a new First Class on its long haul planes, Iberia goes one step further in enhancing its customer service: the new Iberia Business Plus Class is the result of the improvement and merger of both Premium Classes.

Business Plus is the name Iberia has given to its new class for Business passengers on intercontinental routes. In the new Business Plus Class, one of the most important aspects is the seat. Therefore, Iberia chose among the best suppliers in the market to come up with a design exclusive to Iberia.

The result is a great seat that reclines into a full bed, ergonomically designed, with a double back pillow to ensure the most comfortable position for the spinal column and has an additional massage function. It also features a folding armrest, an adjustable headrest and an extendible leg rest operated from the control panel located on the armrest. Once the passenger has found the most comfortable position, this can be recorded in the seat. The seat's rigid exterior shell provides the passenger with an overall more private space. The seat reclines upon this shell and extends into a completely flat bed. There is a space of 152cm between rows, which helps ensure the passengers relaxation and comfort on board. Individual compartments for drinks, as well as for shoes and an adjustable intensity reading light with a privacy separator panel are other features of Iberia's new Business Plus class.

All accessories, including the tableware and linen, have been redesigned. The upholstery, blankets, pillows and toilet kits are made of neutral coloured fabrics that create a feeling of real warmth.

Mediterranean diet and Spanish wines aboard

Iberia has always understood itself as an ambassador of the Spanish culture. In the new Business Plus class, menus will be based on Spanish products and the Mediterranean diet. Iberian cured ham, salads dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and Spanish meats garnished with the best vegetables are accompanied by the most distinguished Spanish wines. The red wines include Ribera del Duero, Rioja and Somontano and amongst the whites are Penedés and Somontano. In addition, the new Business Plus class cabin features a self - service bar where passengers can choose from a variety of drinks and snacks.
